Visiting the producer Coimbra de Mattos is almost a lesson in the history of the Douro. Its ancient cellars preserve exceptional wines for generations, true liquid archives of the region’s finest years. Selected lots are handled with precision and patience for the exclusive production of their Very Old Port, shaped by extended ageing in wood. Deep amber in colour with greenish hues, the bouquet reveals honey, dried fruits, spices and toasted notes.
Rich, velvety and remarkably complex, with outstanding concentration and an elegant, lingering finish.
