The Porto Valriz LBV 2016 has a deep garnet color, very concentrated with persistent legs.
On the nose, it presents intense aromas of black fruits such as blackberry and black plum, with hints of cocoa and a fresh balsamic intensity, reminiscent of forest floor.
On the palate, it reveals itself as a powerful and impactful Port, full bodied, polished and well-integrated tannins, and spicy flavors such as black pepper but also mint and dark chocolate.
This Port is delicious and pairs well with strong cheeses such as Serra or blue cheese, as well as chocolate-based desserts like chocolate mousse. Although it might be enjoyed now, this wine is an excellent representation of the vintage, with a potential for aging for many years in the bottle.
